A week after the Vosgienne, I’m lining up after having completed a light week. As you can see on my load graph (in red) and stress balance (in yellow), I had a good week of sharpening with only 3h30 of cycling oriented a bit intensive recall. The curves crossed well hoping to trigger a peak of form after a month of August quite heavy of preparation. Ideally I try special lead to reproduce Ballon Time the model of 2010 where I literally exploded after the Vosgienne 2010 by taking 10 w at the threshold in one week!
Compared to my previous climbs
I set myself a goal of 315 W. This would allow me to go below 28 min. If I’m doing well, I could speed up a bit more. Better that than the opposite. Indeed, studies show that the best times are done at iso power. The Ballon Time sensor is a valuable tool to avoid over-revving in this type of event. In 2010 with 324 W I was on another planet. I now the best christian youtube channels you should subscribe know that my old version SRM was a bit faster than the last one, let’s say 5 W. Since I’m also 1 kg lighter, I can therefore hope for a better time without putting out more watts.
My previous wheel studies
Have allowed me to highlight a loss of watts on the rear tubular wheel. So I’m going with a mixed front tubular / rear Edge clincher. Hervé had offered me to keep his pair of Lightweight but I didn’t want to abuse it. And then looking at the times from previous years, there wasn’t enough to scratch many places with 10 seconds of gains hoped for. I warm up on my usual protocol (20 min@i2, 5min@I3, 2min@I4, 1min@I5 + a few sprints) in the company of Laurent Champey. Laurent will start just 30 s behind me, he who european union email list generally climbs a minute faster than me, that’s a big challenge to take on to not be caught.
